Dr. Mark Williams

Evening Speaker: June 28th - 29th

Mark L. Williams serves as the third assistant general overseer of the Church of God. He previously served as general overseer for the Church God, the highest leadership role in the denomination, 2012-2016, and as second assistant general overseer from 2008-2012. Williams began his ministerial career as an evangelist. Pastorates include South Cleveland Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee; Riverhills Church, Tampa, Florida; and North Cleveland Church of God, Cleveland, TN—the founding church of the denomination. He also served the Church of God as a member of the International Executive Council and the state overseer of California/Nevada. Williams earned a B.A. from Lee University, an M.Div. and a D.Min. from Pentecostal Theological Seminary and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Lee University in 2010. Williams is married to Sandra Kay, an ordained minister and graduate of Lee University. She holds a Master of Theological Studies from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. The Williams are parents of two grown sons.

Dr. Sam Hemby

Evening Speaker: June 30th - July 3rd

Sam Hemby serves as Professor of Leadership and Practical Theology for the Barnett College of Ministry and Theology at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Since coming to Southeastern in 2002, his duties have included classroom instruction in several areas of practical ministry and leadership training as well as development and administrative oversight of graduate programs for BCMT. Hemby is an ordained minister with almost three decades of church ministry experience, serving churches in Florida and Illinois as Lead Pastor, traveling for several years as an itinerant teacher and evangelist, and serving as interim pastor for several congregations. He has also ministered as conference speaker and guest lecturer in various venues both nationally and abroad. Additionally, Hemby has spent extensive time leading tours to Israel, including church groups as well as multiple five-week, study-abroad sessions with university students. He has also served the Assemblies of God in Alaska since 2011 serving during the summers as interim pastor of churches in leadership transition. Hemby and his wife Rita have been married since 1973 and have two sons and two grandchildren.
