Meet The Pastor - Christian Heritage

Rev. Stephen Phillips

Birthplace: Royston, Georgia
Family: Devoted husband, proud father of two sons

Pastor Stephen Phillips has been part of Christian Heritage Church since he was nine months old in 1969. His ministry began in 1990, serving alongside his father, the late Dennis Phillips (1943-2002). Over the years, Stephen has held roles including Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, and Associate Pastor before becoming Lead Pastor in 2002, a role he continues to fulfill with dedication.

Stephen has also served in leadership positions within the Congregational Holiness Church, including General Treasurer, West Carolina District Superintendent, and General Superintendent. Currently, he serves as the 2nd Assistant General Superintendent, exemplifying his commitment to the broader mission of the church.

Stephen’s passion is shepherding God’s flock and living with significance through faithfulness and fruitfulness. He focuses on multiplying disciples, churches, and ministries, while building meaningful relationships within the church and community.

Outside of ministry, Stephen cherishes time with his family, especially weekly dinners with his now-married sons. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he is a devoted Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He also enjoys singing, playing the trumpet, and occasional golf.

His favorite Bible verse, Colossians 3:17, guides his life and ministry: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Pastor Stephen continues to inspire others through his faith, leadership, and service.
